About Ina: An Exploration of QTPOC Pleasure and Consent
As we enter a new decade, RADAR Productions is looking to the future of the Black QT aesthetic and how we re-write Queer intimacy and pleasure into the next decade and beyond. As such we would like to create a Queer Erotic Anthology inclusive of fiction, short graphic novels, and poetry called Ina. Inspired by a people created by Octavia Butler in Fledgling.
We are partnering with Foglifter Press, to create a limited run of anthologies. Additionally, we will host 8 workshops for California based writers to workshop their writings for submission. Ultimately, this workshop will work to connect California Writers and create a publication that will support the growth of both established and emerging artists. We will pay each artist in the anthology for their contributions and host a launch event. African American Arts and Culture Complex has agreed to host the launch event during pride weekend 2021. Artists will perform a short excerpt of their work and the show will be curated by Local RADAR Alumnx. We will also use this launch to host 2 community workshops, and a panel on Queer People of Color intimacy and consent by local artists leading up to the launch party, in order to hold sacred containers for queer writers of color in SF. Additionally, we plan to collaborate with San Francisco visual artists to create works of art that reflect body positivity and pleasure empowerment, which will be on display in a virtual gallery.
