Valencia: The Movie/s

Have you heard that Michelle Tea’s queer classic, Valencia, is being made into a feature-length film? No? Consider yourself updated! Valencia: The Movie/s is a collaborative film project headed by Michelle Tea and filmmaker Hilary Goldberg. Twenty one queer filmmakers each shoot a 5-7 minute short based on a chapter from the book. Illustrator Amanda Verwey helps visually tie the work together with stunning portraits of the 21 “Michelle” characters who vary in age, gender, size, ethnicity, style and era!

The 21 filmmakers include: Cheryl Dunye, Jill Soloway, Chris Vargas and Greg Youmans, Michelle Lawlor, Channing Kennedy, Amos Mac, Aubree Bernier-Clarke, Lares Feliciano, Courtney Trouble, Sara St. Martin Lynne, Dia Felix, Silas Howard, Alexa Shae, Sarah Adams, Jerry Lee Abram, Peter Pizzi, Sharon Barnes, Cary Cronenwett, Samuael Topiary, Olivia Parriott, and producer Hilary Goldberg.
